Laying solid brand foundations for CGN Developments

Our experience in marketing and communications in the residential and commercial construction sector is well renowned in the East Midlands, so we were privileged to be selected to partner with CGN Developments as the business commissioned a holistic brand and website overhaul.

Making homes work smarter

CGN Developments is a Nottingham-based specialist in the installation of premium mechanical heating solutions, specifically heating systems, underfloor heating and heat pumps. 

The business has been operating for over two decades, and its team possesses a genuine passion for supporting homeowners and businesses with improving their energy efficiency through reliable and sustainable heating systems that are tailored to meet the needs and demands of present day spaces.

Elevating a long-established brand

CGN’s leadership team had a clear vision, to attract high-end clients who understood the benefits of energy efficient building technologies, while also having the budget to invest in such solutions. The brand therefore needed to speak to and resonate with this audience of key decision makers.

After presenting several brand concepts, the team decided on a contemporary and minimalistic identity, with a building icon surrounding the ‘G’ to represent the buildings the team transforms on a daily basis.

The colour palette also received long overdue attention, moving away from bright oranges, greens and whites, and instead taking on greater levels of sophistication with an elegant royal blue, white and a lighter blue as an accent colour.

Building an audience-led user experience

CGN’s desire was to create a cohesive, professional and high-end brand experience across digital and physical touchpoints, all determined by the needs and pain points of the businesses’ audience personas. 

The first project within this initial phase of the brand launch was to craft a new website. We followed our tried and tested process for scalable web development to define a site map that prioritised critical user journeys, before defining individual page wireframes to map out on-page experiences and user flows. 

Communicating CGN’s services and project processes in a clear and concise manner was a priority, so our designs reflected this overarching objective with a minimal style that aligned itself to the new brand identity.

Alongside the website our in-house studio designed and produced a new company brochure, as well as folders to contain all of the relevant documentation a new customer would need when purchasing heating solutions from CGN.

Since the launch of its new brand, website and printed marketing materials, CGN Developments has continued to go from strength to strength, cementing its reputation as one of the leading installers of premium residential and commercial heating solutions in the East Midlands.
